Cinnamon Swirl Apple Fritter Bread


 

Instructions:


Step 1


Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a loaf pan with parchment paper and set aside.


Step 2


Prepare the cinnamon filling by mixing together the light brown sugar, cinnamon powder, and optionally, a sprinkle of powdered nutmeg in a small bowl. Set aside.


Step 3


In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, sour cream, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.


Step 5


Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in the diced apples, reserving a handful for topping, until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Spread half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar filling over the batter and swirl with a butter knife.


Step 8


Add the remaining batter on top and spread it into an even layer. Sprinkle the reserved diced apples over the batter, then top with the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture. Swirl once more with a butter knife.


Step 9


Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.


Step 10


Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10-20 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.


Step 11


While the bread is cooling, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered icing sugar and hot water until smooth. Adjust the consistency as needed.


Step 12


Once the bread has cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top. Allow the glaze to set for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
